Fibre and Optical Networking can be very complex or quite simple depending on the level of detail you want to go to. Staff have varied backgrounds and levels of interest in what is a broad and fascinating subject. Sorrento tailors training sessions according to specific needs, be that for executives, staff moving over from a building-centric IT background or experienced field fibre networking people. We can talk about the physics and photons of fibre communications or very simple ‘is the light on?’ testing. We can talk and advise you about service designed for users as diverse as residential, man-in-the-street ultra-fast broadband to specialised low latency or encrypted leased line connectivity for financial trading platforms. We can also train and advise on network resilience, flexibility and multi-tenant/ multi-service networking within the fibre environment.
Although flexible to a large degree, here we describe some example courses.

Designed for executives and other decision makers we review the basics of Fibre networking such as service types for different customer types, basic fibre networking issues (such as fibre loss), cable installation methods, equipment types, network maintenance issues and how to turn up customer service.
