At-a-Glance
-
Sorrento Networks’ high performance aggregation and management switch for fibre access and aggregation networks at layer two
- 20 x 1Gb/s fibre ports, 4 x combo fibre ports and 4 x 10Gb fibre ports
- Designed for next generation carrier and ISP metro, data centre and enterprise networks
- Ultra-fast fibre networking density with low latency L2/L3 switch in a compact 1RU shelf
- Suitable for direct fibre or operability with Sorrento Networks’ Ethernet-on-DWDM and DWDM-on-PON network service architectures
The GigaMux 6100 is Sorrento Networks’ carrier-class Layer 2 Ethernet traffic aggregation and management switch designed for high performance in the next generation of carrier and ISP metro, data centre and enterprise networking requirements. It has comprehensive protocol support and can facilitate rapid service deployment and management for enterprise and carrier L2/L3 networks.
The built-in fibre capabilities is an ideal way to aggregate incoming Ethernet traffic flowing from FTTP customers within a metro network. It can utilise multiple fibres or Sorrento Networks’ DWDM multi-service virtual fibre access networks.
Typical applications of the GigaMux 6100 exist within the lower tiers of network traffic aggregation and connect to the larger GigaMux 6200 service head ends.
